Xiaomi Lunar Smart Sensor

Xiaomi launches Lunar smart sleep sensor for $10.
The sleep analyzing device has been launched under Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform.

With overall pressure and competition increasing, problems of sleep disorders are becoming more common. And tapping this exact issue, the latest product from the house of Xiaomi is a smart sleep sensor. Under its crowdfunding platform, Xiaomi has launched a pebble-size smart sensor device, called the Lunar smart sleep sensor. As the name suggests, this device intelligently analyzes a user’s sleep duration and quality, and sends out periodic sleep reports through the mobile app. The app works on Android phones running Android 4.0 and higher, and on iPhones running iOS 8.0 and higher.

Another interesting feature that the smart sleeper sensor comes with is a Triple sound button, which plays soothing music to help a user fall asleep, and in addition to that it apparently also gives expert advice on troubled sleep. Also, for the intelligent sleep tracking to work, the sleep sensor needs to be kept on or inside a pillow. The device emits zero radiations and electromagnetic waves, so users do not have to worry about any harm caused by keeping it close to them when sleeping.

One more very interesting thing about the device is that it runs on very low power. Xiaomi claims that on just one hour of charging, the device lasts for about 90 days, which is almost three months. The battery of the device has an entire durability period of 50,000 hours. The Lunar sleep sensor costs RMB 69 (10$; 9,4€), and it is already listed on the crowdfunding platform. The device is expected to ship on January 12, 2017.
